I have to hand it to the Emirates marketing machine. Within days of the World Cup draw they’ve already got their World Cup holiday packages online and are emailing everyone about them. Out of idle curiousity I thought I’d see what an ideal package holiday would cost: 5 star accommodation with tickets to see all of England’s group games. The answer was sobering:

To be fair, if you go with 2 star accommodation, you can do it for about half that amount, which obviously makes it eminently affordable once we sell our kidneys.
